Welcome to Kerry Forster Counselling Services

A confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life

Therapy in a safe, comfortable and private setting

My own life experiences inspired me to retrain as a counsellor, working with both individuals and couples. I’m passionate about providing a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where you can feel supported as you explore the challenges you're facing. I believe the therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor is at the heart of effective therapy, and I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey toward clarity, healing, and growth.

I hold a BA (Hons) degree and am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). My training and experience include working with Rape Crisis and a melanoma cancer charity, which has given me deep insight into the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity.

I take a holistic approach to therapy and am a strong advocate for self-care and mindfulness, recognising their vital role in supporting mental and emotional wellbeing. I often integrate psychoeducation and practical tools into our sessions, helping you build a personalised mental health toolkit that supports you both in and beyond the counselling space.

My Approach

I work integratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities to ensure our work together is tailored to your unique needs. At the heart of my practice is Person-Centred Therapy, which is client-led and grounded in empathy, authenticity, and respect. I also incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Transactional Analysis (TA), allowing for a flexible and personalised approach that supports your individual journey.

When working with couples, my approach is more solution-focused. Together, we explore the dynamics of your relationship, aiming to build understanding, improve communication, and navigate the challenges you’re facing. Whether you're dealing with issues around emotional connection, sexual intimacy, or rebuilding trust after infidelity, I provide a supportive space to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
